• AUGUST 28th • Every Monday Improvised Scene Work

(NO CLASS Sept 4th Labor Day)

• Off Balance • The Unknown • Make Everything Count • Deal With It •

Improvisations will start with a line, a look, a physical action,
and you take off from there. 3, 5, and 10 minute scenes.

The last 45 minutes of our scene work
take place in the many nooks and crannies of fictional Broken, Alaska.

I want in AUG 28th!

“I don’t like improv at all. It terrifies me. I like to know exactly what I’m going to say. Being surprised does make me a better actor. Anytime I’m afraid of something that makes me rise to the occasion, it scares me, but it’s what makes great actors – being in the moment.” ~ Jesse Tyler Ferguson

Sometimes we miss the small moments because we’re so concerned about the end product.
We have an idea of how things should go.
Improvisation is a bit like walking on water.
If you worry about the end you’ll not be able to take that first step.

Exploiting small moments
Intensified listening
Acting on your impulse
Conflict practice
Whole body “yes, and-ing”

You’ll fit in! Come find out how.
The cruise ship docks weekly.
You may want to stay a while to play
in our fictional port town of Broken, Alaska.
You know you want to!
Working on a role? Bring he/she/they…

“To be moment to moment, you have to be available to your own impulses and to what the other person gives you.”  ~ Larry Moss
