COURAGE
noun cour·age \ˈkər-ij\
Keeping on even when you are scared.

“The study of acting consists in the main of getting out of one’s own way, and in learning to deal with uncertainty and being comfortable being uncomfortable.” – David Mamet

A constant reminder for me, you, and all the Magoo’s. No use for any songs titled Should’a, Could’a, Would’a.

I’m excited to start back up with Wake Up Your Work improvisational acting workouts in Seattle. Play without script makes for all kinds of useful discoveries. Whether we’re emphasizing character development, points of view, wants, or emotional truths, what gets exercised week after week are body and soul muscles that help to “deal with uncertainty…” in acting and life.

“What I find really interesting is to try and mix it up, to push myself and try different things. I don’t want to stay in my comfort zone. I want to take risks and keep myself scared.”
Michael Fassbender
