Monday OCTOBER 17th 2016 • Improvisational Scene Work
RSVP here to let me know you want a space on Oct 17th!
MOVE :
Go in a specified direction or manner; change position/
change or cause to change from one state, opinion, sphere, or activity to another.
As an actor we have our body and our voice to communicate. We don’t have to worry about creating emotions because those are responses to what we do. And they come easily if we allow our body to “breath freely”.
Bad Habits? What works well on stage but not in film? Are there gestures that make you look like an amateur? What’s too big?
In this workshop we will PRACTICE movement appropriate for the character and the scene. We will combine action and dialogue. We will look into solving any challenges you face.
Exercise and Scene work
Take-Aways:
More comfortable in your body
Simultaneously doing and speaking
Unnecessary & distracting movements axed
Doing less without energy loss
I believe in you.
You can do this.
Writing? Cast in a role? Bring what you are working on.
“I’ll set up an improvisation, I’ll analyze and discuss it, we’ll do another, and I’ll refine and refine until the actions and dialogue are totally integrated. Then we shoot it.” – Mike Leigh
