• AUGUST 28th • Every Monday Improvised Scene Work
(NO CLASS Sept 4th Labor Day)
• Off Balance • The Unknown • Make Everything Count • Deal With It •
Improvisations will start with a line, a look, a physical action,
and you take off from there. 3, 5, and 10 minute scenes.
The last 45 minutes of our scene work
take place in the many nooks and crannies of fictional Broken, Alaska.
“I don’t like improv at all. It terrifies me. I like to know exactly what I’m going to say. Being surprised does make me a better actor. Anytime I’m afraid of something that makes me rise to the occasion, it scares me, but it’s what makes great actors – being in the moment.” ~ Jesse Tyler Ferguson
Sometimes we miss the small moments because we’re so concerned about the end product.
We have an idea of how things should go.
•••
Improvisation is a bit like walking on water.
If you worry about the end you’ll not be able to take that first step.
